How can I add Window components like Microsoft Backup?

For some reason many companies that configure Windows 98 do not install some core components like Microsoft Backup.  Microsoft Backup ( Windows 98 version allows one to backup files that are bigger than the target disk).  Since Microsoft Backup has the ability to span data across disks, this program is a great help when you need to copy one file from one machine to another.  Of course you can do the same with email attachments and across a network, but if you learn how to use backup you will find that it also can compress the files and save space as well as time when you send it as an attachment.

Click on my Computer
Click on Control Panel
Click on Add/Remove Programs
Click on Windows setup tab
Scroll to you find Systems Tools and click on it
Select backup
Click on OK and Microsoft Backup will install.  Please note that you may need a Windows CD ROM disk

Microsoft removed this program from Windows ME  but added it back to Windows 2000 Professional. In a future tip I will give instructions on how to add backup to Windows ME.
